Eilidh Baker Falmouth University BA (Hons) Illustration The judges said of the winning illustration: “We felt that this wonderfully stylized and enigmatic portrait answered the brief brilliantly. It evokes the period with subtlety, and the use of colour is perfectly judged.” We received more than a hundred entries, and the judges were very impressed with the talent on show: “We were looking for an iconic image that would do justice to the style and elegance of Coco Chanel; an image that would reflect the period and seduce the reader but also not give too much away. We were impressed by the range of responses explored through a wide variety of analogue and digital processes. The most successful entries demonstrated research into the style of the period and a sensitivity to what might be appropriate for the content, while still offering something bold and new. We are delighted with the winning entry and look forward to seeing it in print!” Click here to see the winning and shortlisted entries.
